Ares – The RIAA: On the Prowl for Illegal File Sharing

Long before the RIAA began their anti-piracy campaign against illegal file sharing centering around the use of peer-to-peer (P2P) software networks, their music vigilante efforts focused on the duplication and illegal distribution of cassette tapes and compact discs. It seems that wherever an instance of piracy may develop, the RIAA is on the case. For example, a couple of years ago, there was the case where there were mississippi students targeted by riaa for filesharing with many of them (14 to be exact) actually served with litigation papers from the association; most of which carried significant fines. How’s that for junk mail?
